NAPLAN online

18/04/2017
Dear Parent community,
·         An announcement has been made by the Education Minister Kate Jones for Queensland state schools to delay the implementation of NAPLAN Online. Our school had nominated to trial the NAPLAN online this year for all our Years 7 and 9 students
·         Our students will continue to undertake NAPLAN, in a paper-based format in 2017, as we have done in previous years.
·         A delay means further testing of the assessment platform to ensure that the online tests are 100% ready to go for 2018.
·         We have been able to provide valuable feedback to help improve the platform that our students will use when they undertake the online assessments in 2018.
·         NAPLAN will continue to be a point in time assessment that gives us information on how our students are doing with essential literacy and numeracy skills.
·         We will continue to implement our current curriculum programs ensuring students are developing paper and digital skills in literacy and numeracy.
·         We understand that the Minister has made this decision to put the best interests of our students first.
Kind regards

Mark Blackshaw
