New Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance System

Dear Parents and Carers
On 18th October 2016 the state government announced that it has postponed the implementation of the new senior assessment and tertiary entrance system.
We have received notification that the first cohort through will now be the 2019 Year 11 students who will graduate in 2020 rather than the 2018 Year 11 students to graduate in 2019. This means that the current Year 8 cohort will be the first through the new system and not the current Year 9s as was originally intended.
This will also mean that the current OP system will be operational for the next 3 years (until 2019).
Tailored information about the changes for Year 8 and Year 9 students, and their parents, is also available on the Department of Education and Training website. I will keep you informed of any further information as it is released.
As a school we are committed to maximising the outcomes for all our students and will continue to work hard to ensure that our current Year 9 students are well prepared for the current Queensland Core Skills Test (QCS) and OP system.
If you have any questions please call on 55738555.
Kind Regards,
Mark Blackshaw
Executive Principal
