Student services and support programs

Helensvale State High School has an extensive support services staff as well as external agencies. These include chaplains, industry liaison officer (ILO), guidance officers and school based youth health nurse and information can be found via the tabs on the left hand side of the page.

  • Chaplaincy

    The Chaplaincy Service seeks to provide care and support to all students, staff and their families.

  • Guidance officers

    Guidance Officers are fully qualified teachers with post-graduate degrees in education and counselling.

  • Indigenous student support

    Our Indigenous teacher aide supports our indigenous students at Helensvale State High School.

  • Industry liaison officer

    Our Industry Liaison Officer’s (ILO) role is to administer, manage and monitor students who leave our campus to participate in External Programs that provide students with a Nationally Recognised Qualification and a QSA approved course.

  • Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L)

    School Wide Positive Learning Behaviour Support (SWPLBS)

  • School based youth health nurse

    The youth health nurse can see young people in private to talk about anything that affects health and wellbeing.

  • School bus

    Surfside Buslines provides the school bus service for Helensvale SHS.

  • School dental program

    Queensland Health provides oral health care services to students up to Year 10 for Queensland resident children.

  • Student Services Office

    Student Services Office
